On Thursday 7th April the Sixth Form students organised a Culture Day to raise money for the E5 Baby Bank. Students were invited to wear clothes that expressed their culture and bring in cultural dishes for a food sale at lunch time. There were fantastic outfits on display and the students hugely enjoyed sharing their culture with their teachers and with each other. At lunch time there was a spontaneous fashion show, with students choosing music from their culture as they walked down the catwalk. The students said: ‘I’m really proud of our first culture day as it’s a very diverse school and there are loads of areas represented’ ; ‘what I’m wearing is part of my everyday life, it’s what I see every day and it’s nice to be able to wear this to school’ ; ‘Everyone knew that I was Turkish, but now people know that actually I’m Kurdish!’
