A Level Subjects

Our aim is that all pupils reach their further education aspirations and consequential career goals and, as such, the Mossbourne Sixth Form offers a range of highly regarded A Level subjects. Students studying here select three A Level subjects to study over two years. In exceptional cases, students may consider studying a fourth subject.

The Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), a qualification highly valued by top universities, is offered as an additional qualification for students to apply for this once they have enrolled in Year 12.

Mossbourne Sixth Form pupils will have proven their academic mettle by attaining a minimum of 7 A*-C grades (or equivalent 4-9) including English and Maths, however, individual subjects will have specific minimum entry criteria.

When investigating your selection of the subject choices and combinations we advise that you carefully read the 2021 A Level Subject Guide,  and consider the following questions:

  • What am I passionate about and what am I good at?
  • What subject combinations will facilitate my future aspirations?
  • What are the minimum grade requirements for the courses I want to follow?
  • How is the course assessed?
  • Do you need to have studied the subject at GCSE?
