Oxbridge

We offer a comprehensive programme in the Sixth Form to support students through the Oxbridge application process. We have strong links with Wadham College, Oxford and Clare College, Cambridge, and as such we are able to offer a number of different opportunities for students who aspire to study at Oxford or Cambridge University. The Oxbridge programme includes visits to the universities, academic taster days, and interview masterclasses.

Applying to Oxford or Cambridge is a challenging but exciting process for students. We have a designated Oxbridge Senior Tutor who will encourage your intellectual curiosity and support students to develop critical thinking and academic debating skills. To broaden students’ intellectual horizons the Oxbridge Senior Tutor meets with potential candidates every week and oversees sessions that may include talks from industry experts, film screenings and cultural visits.

Potential applicants are invited to our “Early Applicant Day”, where masterclasses covering the admissions process is delivered; students are supported in crafting a personal statement and developing their interview skills on the day. Each student receives personalised feedback about their personal statement from an Oxbridge graduate and the day concludes with a mock interview.

In the Autumn Term of Year 13, the focus moves to the completion of personal statements, preparation for interviews and admissions test guidance. Multiple mock interviews are held with subject experts from our extensive network of Oxbridge alumni, or even current university staff.

Year after year we are very proud of our students who progress to Oxbridge and look forward to welcoming a new cohort of students who will follow in their footsteps.
